High-side switch with adjustable current limit
The TPS2551DBVT: It integrates an N-channel MOSFET with a typical on-resistance of 85 mOhm and supports a load voltage range of 2.5 V to 6.5 V, making it suitable for USB port power control and general-purpose power-rail switching. The switch delivers up to 1.1 A continuous output current and includes adjustable current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO) for fault protection. The slew-rate controlled turn-on reduces inrush current on capacitive loads.
NRND — plan for last-time-buy
This means TI has flagged the part for eventual discontinuation; new designs should evaluate an alternative, and existing BOM lines should secure inventory through the last-time-buy window or source from independent distribution. For production continuity, buyers should qualify a pin-compatible high-side switch or a cross-sourced device.
The SOT-23-6 package (supplier device package SOT-23-6) is a surface-mount, small-outline transistor outline with six leads. The 85 mOhm typical Rds(on) at 1.1 A results in conduction loss. Derating is necessary above 85°C ambient.
