High-side switch with adjustable current limit for USB and general-purpose loads
It integrates adjustable current limiting, over-temperature protection, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO), making it a fit for USB ports, peripheral power domains, and general-purpose load switching in industrial and automotive-adjacent environments. The switch is non-inverting, controlled by a single On/Off interface, and does not require a separate Vcc supply rail — the load voltage powers the internal gate drive.
At 1.1 A output, the 85 mOhm typical on-resistance produces about 103 mW of conduction loss at 25°C junction — negligible in most designs, but the resistance rises with temperature, so budget derating above 85°C ambient. The adjustable current limit is set with an external resistor between the ILIM pin and ground, allowing the threshold to be dialled in from below 100 mA up to the 1.1 A maximum — useful for matching the switch to the load's inrush profile or to meet USB current-limit requirements. The slew-rate controlled turn-on limits inrush current from capacitive loads, reducing voltage droop on the upstream rail and preventing false resets on shared supplies.
