8.7 mOhm Rds(on) — the number that sets the thermal budget
That Rds(on) figure is the one you care about for board temperature: at 6 A the I²R loss is about 313 mW, which the 8-WQFN-HR (1.5x1.25 mm) package dissipates through the exposed pad. No heatsink, no airflow — just the PCB copper under the pad.
That means this single switch covers the common logic and I/O rails without needing a different variant per voltage. The input-to-output ratio is 1:1 — it is a high-side N-channel pass FET with an on/off control input. Fault protection includes fixed current limiting and over-temperature shutdown. The slew rate is controlled, so the output ramps up gradually — no inrush glitch on a capacitive load that could brown out the upstream regulator.
