What this load switch does on your rail
The Texas Instruments TPS22975NDSGT is a single-channel, high-side load switch in an 8-WSON (2x2 mm) package, rated for continuous output current up to 6 A with a typical on-resistance of 16 mOhm. It operates over a load voltage range of 2.5 V to 5.7 V and does not require a separate Vcc supply.
The 8-WSON with exposed pad helps pull heat into the PCB copper pour — keep the thermal vias under the pad sized for the 6 A continuous current and the derating curve at 105°C.
Built-in over-temperature protection shuts the switch off if the die exceeds the thermal threshold, which saves an external thermistor or comparator in fault-prone loads like motorized actuators or hot-swap cards. The slew-rate controlled turn-on is the feature that keeps the rail from dipping below the brown-out threshold of the downstream MCU or sensor — you get a controlled edge without adding an RC snubber.
