Conduction loss and thermal budget at 3 A
At 3 A load, the 9.2 mOhm typical Rds(on) produces about 83 mW of I²R loss. In the 6-DSBGA package, that heat must be conducted through the PCB copper to the ground plane — the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance depends heavily on the board layout, not just the package.
Reverse current protection and slew rate control
The TPS22925CYPHR includes reverse current blocking — when the output voltage exceeds the input, the switch turns off to prevent back-feed into the source rail. This is useful in multi-rail systems where a downstream bulk capacitor can hold the output above the input during a brownout or sequencing event. The slew rate is internally controlled to limit inrush current into capacitive loads, reducing supply droop on the input rail.
