95 mOhm on-resistance and fault protection
Typical Rds(on) is 95 mOhm, which keeps conduction losses low at 1 A per output — expect about 95 mW dissipation per channel at full load. The switch includes fixed current limiting and over-temperature shutdown, so a shorted card or thermal runaway trips the output before the board trace or PCB suffers damage.
Serial interface and status flag
The switch is controlled via a serial interface, and a dedicated status flag output reports fault conditions to the host controller. This allows the system firmware to sequence the card power-up and respond to over-current or over-temperature events without polling the output voltage.
It comes in a 24-SSOP package (0.209" body width) with a 5.30 mm width — a common footprint for PCMCIA power controllers.
