Dual-slot PCMCIA power switch — 70 mOhm, 1 A, three-rail support
The Texas Instruments TPS2211APWP is a dual-output high-side power switch designed for PCMCIA and CardBus slots. It integrates two 70 mOhm typical Rds(on) switches that deliver up to 1 A each, with support for 3.3 V, 5 V, and 12 V load rails — covering Vcc and Vpp programming voltages in a single IC. The 3:2 input-to-output ratio allows three control signals to manage two slot outputs, simplifying the host interface. A parallel control interface and a Status Flag output provide slot-power status feedback to the system controller.

Without it, junction temperature rises quickly under continuous 1 A on both channels. No external Vcc supply is required — the switch is self-powered from the load rails.
Fault protection and 12 V programming support
Fixed current limiting and over-temperature shutdown protect the switch and the card slot against shorts or overcurrent events. The 12 V rail support is essential for programming PCMCIA flash memory cards that require Vpp at 12 V.
