Four-output PCMCIA switch with 103 mOhm Rds(on)
The Texas Instruments TPS2206IDBG4 is a four-output high-side PCMCIA switch designed to power and protect two card slots in notebook, docking station, or industrial card-reader applications. Its 103 mOhm typical on-resistance keeps the voltage drop under 110 mV per output at the 1 A maximum load, which matters when the slot must deliver 3.3 V, 5 V, or 12 V to the inserted card without dropping below the card's undervoltage threshold.
Triple-rail load and serial control
A serial interface selects the output configuration, with a 3:4 input-to-output ratio that lets one control line manage multiple outputs. The status flag output gives the host controller a fault indicator for over-current or over-temperature events.
Fixed protection and industrial temperature range
Fault protection is built in with fixed current limiting and over-temperature shutdown — no external sense resistor needed, and the limit is not adjustable.
