PCMCIA slot power switch — four channels, three voltage rails
The Texas Instruments TPS2206ADAPRG4 is a PCMCIA power-distribution switch designed to manage the VCC and VPP supplies in PC Card slots. It integrates four high-side outputs with a 3:4 input-to-output ratio, routing 3.3V, 5V, or 12V to the card as the host interface selects.
95 mOhm Rds(on) and the thermal budget
At 1 A per output, the 95 mOhm typical Rds(on) produces 95 mW of I²R loss per channel.
Fault protection and status flag
Built-in current limiting (fixed threshold) and over-temperature shutdown protect the switch and the card slot from short circuits or excessive draw. A status flag output signals fault conditions to the host controller over the serial interface.
