PCMCIA slot power — four outputs, three voltage rails
The TPS2205IDFR is a dedicated PCMCIA power switch from Texas Instruments, routing 3.3 V, 5 V, or 12 V to the card slot through four high-side outputs, each rated 1 A continuous. A status flag output signals over-current or over-temperature events to the host controller, eliminating the need for external fault monitoring.
The 3:4 input-to-output ratio lets three supply inputs (3.3 V, 5 V, 12 V) feed four outputs, with the fourth output sharing one of the rails.
30-SSOP footprint and parallel control
Housed in a 30-SSOP (5.30 mm body width) surface-mount package. The parallel interface allows direct connection to a host GPIO or PCMCIA controller without serial protocol overhead. No Vcc/Vdd supply is required for the switch logic — the device is self-powered from the load rails, simplifying the board-level power tree.
