Active production — sourcing posture for the BOM line
The TPS2054BD: For a BOM that already carries this order code, the supply channel is standard distribution; no last-time-buy clock is running. ROHS3 compliant per the manufacturer's declaration, so no RoHS exemption expiry or transition risk for designs shipping into regulated markets.
4-channel high-side switch — 70 mOhm Rds(on), 500 mA per output
The TPS2054BD integrates four N-channel high-side MOSFETs with a 2:1 input-to-output ratio — two enable inputs each control a pair of outputs, giving independent gating for two separate power domains from a single device. Each output is rated for 500 mA continuous with a typical on-resistance of 70 mOhm. At full load the conduction loss per channel is about 17.5 mW — negligible in the 16-SOIC package as long as the PCB copper area provides a reasonable thermal path. No separate Vcc bias is required — the switch is self-powered from the load rail.
Built-in fault protection — current limit, thermal shutdown, UVLO
The TPS2054BD includes fixed current limiting (no external sense resistor needed), overtemperature shutdown, and under-voltage lockout. When a fault condition clears, the output auto-retries; the status flag pin asserts low during fault events for a microcontroller interrupt or LED indication. The non-inverting enable logic and the status flag make it straightforward to wire into a system supervisor — the flag can gate a downstream enable or trigger a logging entry without additional glue logic.
