Single-channel high-side switch with integrated protection
It integrates fixed current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and undervoltage lockout — three fault protections that eliminate the need for external sense resistors or supervisory ICs on the BOM. The switch is controlled by a single On/Off logic input (non-inverting) and does not require a separate Vcc supply — the gate drive is derived from the load voltage. A status flag output reports overcurrent or overtemperature faults to the host controller.

With a typical on-resistance of 95 mOhm at 5 V input, the TPS2051BDBVTG4 dissipates under 25 mW at 500 mA load — low enough that the SOT-23-5 package (SC-74A, also designated SOT-753) stays within its thermal limits without a copper pour heatsink. The 1:1 input-to-output ratio means the switch passes the full input voltage to the load when enabled, with only the Rds(on) drop. For a 3.3 V rail at 500 mA, expect about 3.25 V at the output — enough margin for most USB and peripheral loads.
