C28x Delfino core for real-time control
The part carries AEC-Q100 qualification, so it is production-ready for automotive cabin and chassis-domain ECUs.
At 150 MHz the C28x pipeline executes a single-cycle MAC, which directly sets the achievable PWM switching frequency and ADC sampling rate. For a 10 kHz current loop, you have 15 000 clock cycles per iteration — enough for a full Park/Clarke transform, PI regulators, and fault checks with margin. If your application needs faster loops or higher-resolution PWM (e.g., 200 kHz+ switching), the 150 MHz ceiling is the hard limit; the part does not have a PLL that goes higher.
If your BOM calls for under-hood or engine-bay temperatures (125°C), this is not the variant — you would step to the -40 to 125°C suffix in the same family.
Peripherals and I/O for system integration
The 16-channel 12-bit ADC is integrated on-chip, so analog feedback (current sense, voltage sense, temperature) routes directly to the C28x core without an external converter.
176-LQFP package and board integration
The 176-LQFP (24x24 mm body) is a common high-pin-count surface-mount package. The 1.8 V core supply (1.805 V to 1.995 V) means a dedicated LDO or DC-DC on the board; the I/O bank runs at 3.3 V, so level translation is only needed if the peripheral bus voltage differs.
