The TMS320F2812PGFS: It runs at 150 MHz and integrates 256 KB of on-chip Flash program memory and 18K x 16 words of RAM, with a 16-channel 12-bit ADC, CANbus, SPI, SCI, and McBSP peripherals. The part is designed for real-time closed-loop control in motor drives, power inverters, battery management, and automotive ECU subsystems where deterministic interrupt response and high math throughput are required.
At 150 MHz the C28x core executes a single-cycle 32x32-bit multiply-accumulate, which directly sets the achievable PWM update rate and current-loop bandwidth. For a typical 10 kHz current loop with Park/Clarke transforms, the available instruction budget is roughly 15 000 cycles per interrupt — enough to run the full vector-control algorithm plus diagnostics without pushing the core to its ceiling. The 256 KB Flash is organized as 128K x 16 and supports 64-bit wide reads, so the prefetch buffer keeps the pipeline fed at 150 MHz with one wait state inserted only on a miss.

176-LQFP package — layout considerations
The fine-pitch (0.5 mm) leads require careful solder-paste stencil design and a clean reflow profile. The package has no exposed thermal pad; junction-to-ambient thermal resistance is managed through the leadframe and PCB copper pours. For continuous operation at 150 MHz with all peripherals active, a minimum of four inner-layer copper planes and a via-stitched ground pad under the package are recommended to keep junction temperature within the 125°C limit.
