What the 100 MHz C28x core buys you in a control loop
The TMS320F2806NMFA runs a single C28x core at 100 MHz — that is the clock rate that decides whether your digital power loop or motor current regulator fits inside the switching period. With a single-cycle 32×32 multiply-accumulate, the C28x can execute a PID or a Park/Clarke transform in a handful of cycles, leaving headroom for commutation sequencing and fault detection.
