What this C2000 Piccolo MCU brings to a real-time control loop
Its 90 MHz C28x core runs fixed-point math efficiently, and the 128 KB of on-chip Flash plus 50K x 16 RAM give enough room for a field-oriented motor control stack or a digital power supply state machine without external memory. The 16-channel, 12-bit ADC samples simultaneously with the PWM timers, so current and voltage feedback lands with deterministic latency — no software jitter from interrupt scheduling.
Peripheral set and connectivity for system integration
The 54 general-purpose I/O pins are enough to handle encoder inputs, relay drivers, and status LEDs without an expander.
