The 128 KB (64K x 16) Flash and 34K x 16 RAM provide enough code space and data buffer for a typical three-phase motor control stack plus a CANopen or Modbus stack over the integrated CANbus and UART interfaces. The 12-bit ADC with 12 channels maps directly to phase current sensing on a shunt or Hall-effect transducer; paired with the PWM module, the part can trigger a synchronized conversion at the PWM carrier peak, eliminating the jitter that plagues software-triggered sampling in a 16 kHz current loop.
