60 MHz C28x core — real-time control loop headroom
The TMS320F28052PNT runs a 32-bit C28x core at 60 MHz, enough to close current and speed loops in a single-phase motor drive or a digital power converter without needing an external FPGA for the PWM generation. The 64 KB on-chip Flash holds the firmware image; the 10K x 16 RAM gives the data buffers and stack room for a moderate control algorithm. The 16-channel 12-bit ADC samples the feedback signals — current sense, rotor position, DC-link voltage — at a rate that keeps the loop bandwidth above a few kilohertz.
The peripheral list includes CAN, I²C, SCI, SPI, and UART — enough to talk to an encoder, a display, or a fieldbus gateway over a single UART-to-RS485 converter. The 80-LQFP package (12x12 mm) routes to a two-layer board without micro-vias.
