The TI TMS320F28031PNQ is a 32-bit single-core C28x MCU rated for automotive environments with AEC-Q100 qualification. It runs at 60 MHz and packs 64 KB of program Flash and 8K x 16 of RAM.
Memory and peripherals for a control design
64 KB of Flash and 8K x 16 of RAM is a modest footprint. You can fit a field-oriented control (FOC) algorithm with sine-table lookup and a few PID loops, but don't plan on logging waveform data or running a bootloader that stores multiple firmware images. The 16-channel 12-bit ADC is enough for three-phase current sensing plus a couple of voltage and temperature inputs, but the 12-bit resolution means you'll need external amplification for sub-millivolt signals. Peripherals include CAN, I²C, LIN, SPI, and UART — enough for automotive sensor fusion and actuator control.
