The TMS320F28030RSHT: It is built for real-time closed-loop control — think field-oriented motor drives, digital power supplies, and industrial inverters where the control loop runs on a deterministic interrupt. The 60 MHz ceiling is enough to execute a current loop with a 10–20 kHz PWM update rate and still leave headroom for commutation and comms. The 32 KB Flash (16K x 16) holds a moderate firmware image; the 6 KB RAM handles data buffers and state variables. If your algorithm needs more than that, you are looking at the higher-density Piccolo siblings.
Peripheral set — CAN, LIN, and a 13-channel 12-bit ADC
This MCU includes a CANbus controller, LINbus, I²C, SPI, SCI, and UART/USART — the connectivity you expect for an automotive or industrial node that talks to a fieldbus and a sensor cluster. The 13-channel 12-bit ADC is enough for three-phase current sensing plus a few auxiliary signals.
