The C28x core runs at 50 MHz, which sets the PWM update rate and ADC conversion scheduling for real-time control. In a motor drive or digital power supply, that clock drives the time base for the on-chip PWM peripherals and the 12-bit ADC sequence. The 32 KB of Flash (16K x 16) holds the control firmware and bootloader; the 4K x 16 RAM handles variable storage and lookup tables. At this speed, the part is sized for a single-axis servo loop or a two-phase interleaved PFC stage — not for multi-axis motion or multi-kHz switching above the 50 MHz budget.
The 38-TSSOP package (0.240" body width, 6.10 mm) is surface mount. Supply voltage is 1.71 V to 1.995 V.
Peripherals and I/O count
The six-channel 12-bit ADC is integrated with a sample-and-hold, sufficient for reading current shunts and voltage dividers in a typical power stage.
