The TMP112NAIDRLT is a digital local temperature sensor from Texas Instruments with 12-bit resolution and a rated accuracy of ±1°C across the full -40°C to 125°C operating range. That ±1°C is the highest accuracy spec over the entire industrial temperature window — not just a narrow sweet spot — so it holds up in an engine bay or outdoor cabinet without recalibration. It communicates over I²C/SMBus, which means a standard two-wire interface with the host MCU. The output type (I²C/SMBus) and the 12-bit resolution are fixed — no pin-strapping for address or bus speed, so the firmware just reads the temperature register.
Supply voltage range of 1.4V to 3.6V means this sensor can operate directly on a 1.8V or 3.3V rail without a separate LDO. That saves a regulator and a decoupling cap on a dense board. The low 1.4V minimum also supports single-cell Li-ion or LiFePO4 battery-powered designs down to near-end-of-discharge.
