What the 6.4 MHz GBW and 10 V/µs slew rate mean on the bench
The TLE2161AID is a single-channel JFET-input op-amp from TI's Excalibur™ line, packing 6.4 MHz gain-bandwidth and 10 V/µs slew rate into an 8-SOIC package. The JFET front end keeps input bias current at 4 pA typical, which matters when you are buffering a high-impedance sensor or a photodiode — the bias current won't swamp the signal. The 290 µA supply current is low enough that this part can live on a shared rail in a multi-op-amp design without blowing the power budget. The 10 V/µs slew rate means the output can swing 10 V in one microsecond, so for a ±5 V supply rail the full-scale step settles in about a microsecond. That is fast enough for audio processing, active filters in the 100 kHz range, and general-purpose signal conditioning where you need clean transient response without excessive overshoot.
Supply rails and temperature grade — fits industrial control boards
The TLE2161AID runs on a supply span from 7 V minimum up to 36 V maximum, so it works off common rails like ±5 V, ±12 V, or ±15 V without needing an extra regulator. The -40°C to 85°C operating range covers most industrial enclosures, outdoor telecom cabinets, and factory-floor panels where the ambient stays below 85°C. Output can source or sink 80 mA per channel, which is enough to drive a 600 Ω audio line, a small relay coil through a transistor, or the input of an ADC without a separate buffer stage. The 500 µV typical input offset voltage is reasonable for a general-purpose JFET part — you will not use it for microvolt-level precision, but it is fine for 0.1% accuracy in a 10 V full-scale system.
