Active quad op amp for multi-channel signal chains
The TL974IPW is an active Texas Instruments quad general-purpose operational amplifier in a 14-TSSOP surface-mount package. With a 12 MHz gain-bandwidth product and 5 V/µs slew rate, it supports signal bandwidths up to roughly 1.2 MHz at a closed-loop gain of 10 before the gain-bandwidth ceiling limits the response. Each of the four channels draws 2 mA supply current, totaling 8 mA quiescent for the package — a reasonable budget for a multi-channel sensor interface or filter bank running from a single 5 V or 3.3 V rail.
Supply range and output swing for single-supply designs
The rail-to-rail output stage lets the amplifier swing within millivolts of the supply rails, preserving dynamic range when the supply span is as low as 2.7 V or as high as 12 V. This makes the part usable in battery-powered instruments running from two lithium cells (2.7 V minimum) as well as in industrial control boards with a 12 V analog rail. Output current capability is 80 mA per channel, enough to drive the input of a successive-approximation ADC directly or to switch a small-signal relay through a series resistor. The 200 nA input bias current and 1 mV input offset voltage are typical for a general-purpose bipolar-input amplifier — adequate for DC-accurate circuits where the signal source impedance is below 10 kΩ.

Rated for -40°C to 125°C operating temperature, the TL974IPW covers the industrial and automotive under-hood temperature range. The 14-TSSOP package (0.173-inch body width, 4.40 mm) is a standard surface-mount footprint that routes easily on two-layer boards with 0.65 mm pin pitch. ROHS3 compliant per the current EU exemption rules, with no restricted substances in the bill of materials. The part ships in tube packaging — 50 units per tube typical for TSSOP-14.
