PWM controller with wide supply range and multiple topologies
The Texas Instruments TL494ING4 is a fixed-frequency PWM controller designed for a broad range of switching power supply topologies including buck, boost, flyback, forward converter, full-bridge, half-bridge, and push-pull configurations. It operates from a 7V to 40V supply and delivers a transistor-driver output with a maximum duty cycle of 45% per output, making it suitable for push-pull and bridge-based designs where dead-time control is critical. The switching frequency spans 1 kHz to 300 kHz, covering the majority of offline and DC-DC converter applications while allowing compact magnetics at the upper end.
Industrial temperature grade and through-hole package
Housed in a 16-pin PDIP (0.300-inch, 7.62 mm body) through-hole package, it is compatible with standard prototyping boards and legacy through-hole assembly lines, and the 0.100-inch pin pitch simplifies manual rework and inspection.
