Four LVDS outputs in a 48-pin TSSOP — what this driver does
The Texas Instruments SN75LVDS84ADGGRG4 is a dedicated LVDS driver from the FlatLink™ family, designed to serialize and transmit parallel data over four differential LVDS pairs. It provides four driver channels with no on-chip receivers — this is a transmit-only device for pushing wide parallel buses across a ribbon cable or flex circuit at low EMI.
The SN75LVDS84ADGGRG4 is supplied in a 48-TFSOP package (0.240" body width, 6.10 mm) that is mechanically and thermally equivalent to a 48-TSSOP. The fine-pitch leads require a controlled solder-paste stencil and a reflow profile suited for MSL 3 devices. The "G4" suffix indicates TI's green (RoHS) and halogen-free molding compound, which is standard for current production.
TI lists the SN75LVDS84ADGGRG4 as Active. For volume production or long-term BOM planning, this part carries no imminent obsolescence risk, but as with any active IC, monitor TI's PCN feed for future changes.
