16-channel LVDS driver for parallel data links
The Texas Instruments SN75LVDS387DGGRG4 is a 16-channel LVDS line driver in a 64-TSSOP package, designed to push parallel data at 630 Mbps per channel over differential pairs. This part is the driver half of a point-to-point or multidrop LVDS link — you pair it with a compatible receiver like the SN75LVDS386 to complete the channel.
630 Mbps per channel — what it buys you
Each of the 16 drivers switches at 630 Mbps, which is enough for 18-bit or 24-bit parallel RGB video at common resolutions, or for aggregating multiple slower serial streams into a wide LVDS bus. The 16:0 driver/receiver ratio means this is a pure transmit device — no integrated termination or receiver on-chip.
Package and supply rail notes
The 64-TSSOP body (6.10 mm wide) is a fine-pitch surface-mount package — hand-soldering is possible with a steady iron and flux, but a hot-air station or reflow profile is cleaner. Decouple each supply pin pair with a 0.1 µF cap close to the package.
