With no integrated receivers (4/0 configuration), this part is strictly a transmit-side device — you pair it with a separate LVDS receiver at the far end. Typical applications include backplane interconnects, cable extension links, and clock distribution in commercial-temperature equipment (0°C to 70°C) where the signal integrity benefits of LVDS — low EMI, low power, and robust noise margin — justify the differential pair routing.
That means TI no longer manufactures this device, and no last-time-buy window remains open. Availability is intermittent and lot-specific — date codes will vary, and quantities are typically limited to what remains in franchised-excess or customer inventory that has been released. This is a part you qualify into a production BOM only when you have no pin-compatible drop-in alternative and you are willing to accept the supply risk of a non-franchised channel.
3.3V supply, no 5V tolerance
It is not 5V-tolerant — applying 5V to the supply or to the input pins exceeds the absolute maximum ratings and will damage the device. If your system runs on 5V logic, you need a level translator or a different LVDS driver rated for 5V supply.
