Single buffer with open-drain output for mixed-voltage buses
Open-drain output and pull-up resistor requirement
Because the output is open drain, this buffer can sink current but cannot source it. The datasheet specifies a sink capability of 32 mA (low-level output current), while the high-level output current is listed as "-" (no sourcing). For the output to pull high, an external pull-up resistor must be connected from the output pin to the desired high-level voltage rail. It also works in wired-OR interrupt or status lines where multiple open-drain outputs share a common pull-up.
The base product number 74LVC1G07 is widely used across multiple package variants, so supply continuity is supported by the broader 74LVC1G07 family.
Package and footprint: SOT-23-5
This is a five-pin surface-mount package with a 0.95 mm pitch, common for single-gate logic. The SOT-23-5 footprint is shared by many single-gate 74LVC devices, so a layout designed for this part can often accommodate a pin-compatible alternative without board revision.
