What the 32mA sink and 1.65V–5.5V supply mean for your BOM
The 32mA sink rating is the headline number for this part. It tells you the output can pull a line low with enough current to drive a standard LED (typically 10–20mA) or to saturate a small-signal NPN transistor. The open-drain topology means the output high level is set by an external pull-up resistor to whatever voltage the downstream logic needs — 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, or 5V — so the same part can level-shift between domains. The supply range from 1.65V to 5.5V covers the common digital rails: 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V. If your design already uses 3.3V or 5V for the rest of the 74LVC family, this buffer drops in without a separate regulator.
