The SN74LVC1G06DCKJ: The open-drain output allows wired-OR connections and level translation without external pull-up conflicts. The SC-70-5 package fits tight board layouts.
This part is officially obsolete per the manufacturer's lifecycle status. That means TI no longer produces it, and no last-time-buy window is open. For a production BOM, you need a drop-in replacement or a redesign.
Supply voltage and level-shifting capability
Because the output is open drain, the pull-up voltage can be different from VCC — a common trick for level shifting: run VCC at the input-side voltage and pull up the output to the target logic level. The 32 mA sink capability handles typical bus loads and LED drive. Just remember the output only sinks current; it cannot source, so a pull-up resistor is mandatory.
