Quad 1:2 bus switch in a 16-SOIC narrow body
The SN74CBTLV3257D is a four-channel 1:2 multiplexer/demultiplexer from TI's 74CBTLV low-voltage bus-switch family. Each of the four independent circuits routes one input to one of two outputs, or the reverse, under a common select line. The 16-SOIC narrow-body package (0.154" body width) matches the standard SOIC-16 footprint used across many logic families, making it a drop-in for existing board layouts that need a low-on-resistance analog switch for signal routing.
Supply rail and temperature grade for the BOM
Because the 74CBTLV series uses a pass-gate architecture with very low on-resistance, the SN74CBTLV3257D is suited for analog signal switching (audio, sensor levels) as well as digital bus muxing, provided the signal swing stays within the supply rails.
Active production — no LTB pressure
Standard lead times apply through TI's authorized distribution channel. For reel quantities, the sibling order code SN74CBTLV3257PWR (TSSOP-16) is a common alternative, but the package and footprint differ — the 16-SOIC body is wider and the pin spacing is the same 1.27 mm pitch, so a board designed for the SOIC cannot accept the TSSOP without a layout change.
Sourcing through independent distribution
As an active TI part, the SN74CBTLV3257D is routinely available through the distributor network. Independent distributors also carry it, often with short lead times. When sourcing outside the authorized chain, check that the date-code laser etch matches TI's factory marking format and that the tube or reel carries consistent lot traceability — the 16-SOIC narrow body is a common target for re-marked parts because of its wide use.
