This is an asynchronous FIFO with a 4.5K (512 x 9) memory array. The 9-bit width suits applications that need a parity or control bit alongside an 8-bit data byte. Asynchronous operation means read and write are controlled by independent strobes — no external clock required, but flag timing must be managed in the system design. The commercial temperature grade (0°C to 70°C) limits use to controlled indoor environments; not rated for industrial or automotive ambient extremes.

Retransmit capability, depth/width expansion
Retransmit capability allows resetting the read pointer to the first unread word without a full FIFO reset — useful for error recovery or retry protocols. Expansion type supports both depth and width cascading, so multiple devices can be ganged for larger buffers without external logic.
