The receiver hysteresis of 150 mV is a deliberate margin against noise on the bus lines. In a SymPol network, the differential detection already rejects common-mode noise; the hysteresis adds a Schmitt-trigger effect that prevents the receiver from chattering on slowly rising or falling edges caused by cable capacitance. For a 5 Mbps link running over tens of meters, that hysteresis keeps the bit-error rate low without external filtering.

Supply and temperature — fitting the 5 V industrial rail

This matches a regulated 5 V rail from a switching or linear regulator, but it will not tolerate a direct unregulated 5 V bus that droops below 4.75 V under load.
