Product details

RS-485 bus transceiver for 20 Mbps industrial links

It handles one driver and one receiver on a single differential bus, with a data rate of 20 Mbps. The 80 mV receiver hysteresis filters noise on long cable runs without external biasing.

At 20 Mbps the SN65HVD75D supports Profibus, BACnet MS/TP, and other high-speed fieldbus physical layers. The 80 mV of receiver hysteresis is a datasheet-typical figure that gives clean logic transitions when the cable picks up motor-drive noise or ground-potential shifts. For a 3.3 V-only system, the supply range fits directly onto a 3.3 V rail — no level translation needed between the transceiver and the UART.

lists the SN65HVD75D as Active.

Frequently asked questions

Is the SN65HVD75D compatible with 5V logic?

The logic inputs are not 5 V-tolerant at the supply voltage; a level shifter or a 3.3 V UART is needed for 5 V logic interfaces.
