RS-485 at 400 kbps — the noise-tolerant full-duplex workhorse
The 400 kbps data rate covers the bulk of industrial fieldbus and building-automation links where you don't need the higher-speed 1 Mbps or 10 Mbps tiers — and where you'd rather have the noise margin. The 70 mV receiver hysteresis cleans up signals on long twisted-pair runs, reducing bit errors from ground shifts or coupled noise without external biasing.
The extended temperature grade means you don't have to derate for ambient heat inside a sealed enclosure or near a power stage.
