What this transceiver does on the bus
The Texas Instruments SN65HVD33MDREP is a full-duplex RS-422/RS-485 transceiver in a 14-SOIC package, handling one driver and one receiver on a single 3V to 3.6V rail. It pushes data at 23 Mbps, which is on the fast side for RS-485 — useful for high-speed industrial links or avionics data buses where you need to move packets quickly without stepping up to LVDS. The receiver hysteresis is 50 mV, giving you some noise margin on a long cable run.
Military temperature range — what it buys you
The full temperature grade means the driver output levels and receiver thresholds are guaranteed across that span, not just typical. If your board lives in a heated cabinet, the commercial or industrial grade is cheaper — but if the board sees the outside of the shelter, this is the one.
TI lists the SN65HVD33MDREP as Active. No end-of-life notice, no last-time-buy deadline to chase.
