50 Mbps full-duplex — what the data rate buys you
At 50 Mbps, this transceiver supports high-throughput links such as real-time motion control feedback, vision system data aggregation, or high-speed sensor networks. The full-duplex architecture allows simultaneous transmit and receive on the bus, eliminating the turnaround delay inherent in half-duplex designs. When laying out the bus, the 70 mV of receiver hysteresis provides built-in noise immunity against signal reflections and ground shifts common in industrial cabling — no external filtering needed for most runs under 100 meters at this speed.
Supply rail and logic-level compatibility
This is a 3.3V-only part: the VCC input is not rated for 5V, and the logic-level I/O (driver input, receiver output) expects 3.3V CMOS levels. Do not connect it to a 5V microcontroller UART without a level translator, as the absolute maximum ratings for logic inputs are tied to the supply range. The receiver output is specified for 3.3V logic, so a 5V-tolerant input on the MCU side is not sufficient — the transceiver cannot drive a 5V logic high.
