The 1 Mbps data rate is the practical ceiling for a half-duplex bus at this voltage; longer cable runs at full speed may need stiffer biasing or a slower fallback rate to keep the eye open. The 35 mV hysteresis is a real help on a noisy factory floor — it prevents the receiver from chattering on a floating or lightly loaded bus.

Board-level fit and handling
The 8-DIP package with 0.300-inch row spacing is a standard through-hole footprint. It mates to a standard 8-pin DIP socket or can be soldered directly into plated through-holes. No special ESD handling beyond normal precautions — the bus pins are rated for the standard HBM levels typical of this transceiver family.
