5 V supply — 3.3 V systems need level translation
If your design runs a 3.3 V logic supply, the transceiver's VCC is not compatible — you'll need a separate 5 V bus supply or a level-shifting buffer on the logic side. The receiver hysteresis of 40 mV helps reject noise on long cable runs, which is useful in electrically noisy environments like motor drives or PLC backplanes.
