Zero-drift precision for DC measurement loops
The OPA735AIDBVT is a single-channel zero-drift operational amplifier from Texas Instruments, in a 5-pin SOT-23-5 package. Its 1 µV typical input offset voltage and rail-to-rail output make it a fit for precision DC signal conditioning where thermal drift and supply headroom are the limiting factors — think thermocouple amplifiers, strain-gauge bridges, or photodiode front-ends that need sub-millivolt accuracy across temperature. With a gain-bandwidth product of 1.6 MHz and a slew rate of 1.5 V/µs, this amp is sized for low-frequency sensor conditioning rather than high-speed ADC drive. The 600 µA supply current and 100 pA input bias current keep the power budget lean in battery-operated or loop-powered transmitter designs.
Supply rails and temperature envelope
The OPA735AIDBVT operates from a 2.7 V to 12 V single supply and is specified over the -40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range. That covers 3.3 V and 5 V rails without a negative supply — a common requirement for single-supply industrial sensor interfaces. The SOT-23-5 package does not expose a thermal pad, so the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance is dominated by the PCB copper area connected to the ground pin. For 20 mA output current at 12 V supply, the internal dissipation is about 240 mW — within the package capability with standard FR4 layout.
