35 kHz GBP, 0.01 V/µs slew — a micropower precision amplifier for DC and low-frequency signals
The OPA241UA is a single-channel general-purpose op-amp from Burr-Brown, built for applications where supply current is tight and signal bandwidth stays below a few hundred hertz. Its 35 kHz gain-bandwidth product and 0.01 V/µs slew rate mean it is not a candidate for audio, fast control loops, or any path carrying kilohertz-range AC content — the output simply cannot slew fast enough to track a 1 kHz sine wave without distortion. What it does well is condition DC or quasi-DC signals: thermocouple outputs, strain-gauge bridges, battery-voltage monitoring, or current-sense amplifier stages where the signal changes slowly. Supply current is 27 µA typical, which places it in the micropower class — a sensor node that runs continuously on a coin cell sees the op-amp's draw as a small fraction of the total budget. Input offset voltage is 100 µV max, respectable for a general-purpose part at this power level, and the rail-to-rail output stage swings within millivolts of either supply rail, preserving dynamic range in low-voltage single-supply designs.
Package, supply range, and temperature grade
Housed in an 8-SOIC package (0.154-inch body width, 3.90 mm), the OPA241UA uses a standard footprint shared by hundreds of op-amps — no board spin needed to swap in a different single-channel device. The supply span runs from 2.7 V to 36 V, so it works on a single lithium cell, a 5 V logic rail, or a ±15 V split supply without external regulation. Operating temperature covers -40 °C to 85 °C, the industrial band that handles most factory-floor, outdoor enclosure, and automotive-cabin environments. Output drive is rated 21 mA per channel — enough to swing a 600 Ω load rail-to-rail or drive the input of a successive-approximation ADC's sample-and-hold capacitor. Input bias current is 4 nA typical, low enough that a 10 kΩ source resistor contributes only 40 µV of offset error, negligible against the 100 µV input offset.
Active production, ROHS3, and sourcing posture
The OPA241UA carries an active lifecycle status — no end-of-life notice, no last-time-buy clock. It is ROHS3 compliant, meaning no exempted substances and full EU market access.
