5 V fixed rail for noise-sensitive loads
Its 63 dB PSRR at 1 kHz makes it a natural choice for cleaning up a 5 V rail feeding analog circuitry — ADC references, op-amp supplies, or sensor bias chains — where ripple on the input bus would otherwise couple into the signal path.
Dropout headroom and thermal budget
Maximum dropout voltage is 0.22 V at the full 50 mA load, so the input rail needs at least 5.22 V to maintain regulation. The quiescent current sits at 95 µA typical, rising to 1.2 mA max under all conditions — low enough that the regulator does not eat into the load budget on a battery-powered or lightly loaded rail.
Built-in protection covers over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit events — the regulator folds back or shuts down rather than letting the pass element exceed its safe operating area. An Enable pin (active-high logic) lets the system designer gate the output rail for sequenced power-up or low-power sleep modes. The SOT-23-5 package (SC-74A, SOT-753) is a five-pin surface-mount footprint with a 0.95 mm pin pitch, common enough that the PCB layout and assembly profile are well understood across most contract manufacturers.
That means the manufacturer has announced end-of-life and is accepting final orders within a defined window.
