63 dB PSRR at 1 kHz — noise rejection for sensitive rails
The LP2980AIM5X-4.0/NOPB delivers a power-supply rejection ratio of 63 dB at 1 kHz. For an LDO rated at 50 mA output, this is a solid mid-range figure — enough to clean up a 5 V bus feeding a 4 V analog supply or a sensor bias rail without requiring a post-filter LC stage. The low Iq keeps the regulator efficient in always-on or battery-backed domains where every microamp counts.
Dropout voltage and thermal envelope
Maximum dropout voltage is 0.22 V at 50 mA. The SOT-23-5 package has a junction-to-ambient thermal resistance that limits dissipation.
On-chip protection includes over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit shutdown. An Enable pin allows the regulator to be gated by a logic-level signal — useful for sequencing or power-saving sleep modes.
