Fixed 3.3V LDO with 0.22V dropout at full load
The LP2980AIM5-3.3 from Texas Instruments is a single-output, fixed 3.3V low-dropout linear regulator rated for 50 mA continuous output. The 0.22V max dropout at 50 mA means a 3.5V input rail is sufficient to maintain regulation — useful in battery-powered designs where the input voltage sags under load.
PSRR is 63 dB at 1 kHz, which attenuates a 1 Vpp ripple on the input to roughly 0.7 mVpp at the output. This makes it a candidate for powering the analog front-end or VCO supply in RF and instrumentation chains, where switching-regulator noise would otherwise couple into the signal path.
Industrial temp grade and protection set
Built-in over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit protection handle the common fault scenarios in those environments without external clamp diodes.
Existing production runs can still be sourced through independent distribution, but new BOM entries should evaluate a recommended replacement from the same family or a pin-compatible LDO with similar dropout and PSRR.
