Dropout and quiescent current — the real-world headroom numbers
Maximum dropout is 0.22 V at the full 50 mA load, so the input rail needs at least 2.02 V to hold regulation. The enable pin (Control Features) lets a host processor shut the LDO off entirely, dropping Iq to near zero in standby.
Texas Instruments no longer manufactures it, and no last-time-buy window is open. There is no official TI replacement listed on the record, so any substitution requires pin-compatible validation against the existing layout.

Housed in a 5-pin SOT-23-5 (SC-74A), this is a surface-mount part with a 0.95 mm pitch — standard for hand-assembly or reflow. Protection features include over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit, so it handles a momentary output short without letting the magic smoke out.
