50 mA LDO — 3.3 V fixed, µSMD footprint
The LP2980AIBP-3.3/NOPB: It packs a 63 dB PSRR at 1 kHz and a maximum dropout of 0.22 V at full load, making it a fit for noise-sensitive analog rails in portable or space-constrained gear.
A 63 dB PSRR at 1 kHz means this regulator attenuates ripple on the input by roughly 1,400× at that frequency — enough to keep a 100 mVpp input buzz down to ~70 µVpp on the 3.3 V output. The 0.22 V maximum dropout at 50 mA tells you the input must stay above 3.52 V to maintain regulation; below that the output follows the input minus the dropout floor. That Iq is low enough for battery-powered always-on blocks, but not the single-digit-microamp territory of dedicated ultra-low-Iq LDOs.
Industrial temperature range — not a commercial-grade part
Protection features include over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit — standard for a modern LDO, but the over-temperature shutdown is what keeps the die safe when the µSMD's thermal resistance is pushed in a tight layout.
The 5-µSMD package and the NOPB (lead-free) finish are fixed; there is no drop-in replacement from TI's current portfolio with the same footprint and pinout.
