3.3V fixed rail for industrial and automotive boards
The LP2950CZ-3.3/LFT1 is a positive fixed-output LDO regulator delivering 3.3V at up to 100 mA. It's built for through-hole assembly in the TO-92-3 package, with a maximum dropout voltage of 0.6V at full load — enough headroom for a 5V rail to regulate cleanly down to 3.3V.
Dropout and quiescent current — sizing the rail
At 100 mA output the dropout is 0.6V max, so the input must stay above 3.9V to maintain regulation. Quiescent current is 120 µA typical, rising to 14 mA max under fault — the part includes over-current and over-temperature protection, so the supply budget should cover that peak. Input voltage can go up to 30V, which gives plenty of margin for a 12V or 24V industrial bus. The fixed 3.3V output means no external resistor divider — just the input cap and an output cap per the datasheet recommendation.
