The LMK04228NKDR is a PLL-based jitter cleaner from Texas Instruments, designed to clean up noisy reference clocks and generate multiple low-jitter output frequencies up to 3.08 GHz. It accepts LVCMOS, LVDS, or LVPECL inputs and provides the same output protocol options, with full differential input and output capability — so it fits into a wide range of clock trees without needing external level translation. The 3:15 input-to-output ratio means a single reference clock fans out to fifteen independent clock domains. Supply and temperature — single-rail industrial operation
Operates from a single 3.15 V to 3.45 V supply rail. No separate analog or digital supply needed — the internal LDOs clean the rail further, so a standard 3.3 V regulator with ±5% tolerance stays within the window. The pad is the primary thermal path; without proper soldering to the PCB copper, the junction temperature rises above the 85°C ambient limit even at moderate output loads.
