PLLatinum clock generator core
The LMK04102SQX/NOPB is a PLL-based clock generator from Texas Instruments' PLLatinum™ series, housed in a 48-WFQFN exposed-pad package. It accepts LVCMOS, LVDS, or LVPECL inputs and can deliver LVCMOS, 2VPECL, or LVPECL outputs at frequencies up to 1.08 GHz. With a 2:7 input-to-output ratio and differential signaling on both sides, this part serves as a clean fanout buffer or frequency synthesizer in a timing tree where phase noise and skew matter.
Signal format and frequency reach
The 1.08 GHz maximum output frequency covers high-speed serial links (Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe Gen 1/2, Fibre Channel) and ADC/DAC reference clocks. The differential outputs (LVPECL, 2VPECL) maintain signal integrity over short PCB traces; the LVCMOS output is single-ended for lower-frequency fanout. Input flexibility (LVCMOS, LVDS, LVPECL) means the same part can accept a crystal oscillator, a VCXO, or a reference from another PLL without a level translator.
Temperature range and supply
The supply range is 3.15 V to 3.45 V, a tight window that demands a clean 3.3 V rail with low ripple. The 48-WQFN (7x7 mm) exposed pad requires a thermal via array under the pad for adequate heat sinking; the datasheet layout recommendation should be followed to keep the die temperature within limits at full output swing.
Active lifecycle and sourcing
Supplied in Tape & Reel (TR) for automated pick-and-place. The base product number LMK04102 covers related variants; confirm the full suffix (SQX/NOPB) for the exact package and RoHS compliance.
